Seafarers Building

The Seafarers building situated in the Auckland CBD is the home away from home for visiting seafarers. The building consists of 8 x levels and has facilities such as the Mariners Memorial Chapel of St Peter, PC workstations including Wifi, souvenir shop and money exchange, beverages, pool tables and games. The building is also host to a number of bars & restaurants across different levels, and also ground floor retail.

Our Solutions

The Seafarers building sprinkler system we designed was initiated as a client request to have installed. Being an existing building, and with multiple businesses co-located within, we needed to design a solution that was not only compliant, but could be installed with minimal disruption to business activity. The building presented unique challenges with brick ceilings in areas and external perforated shade sails in the restaurants, but through working with the client, fire engineer, and AON we achieved an alternative compliant system whereby all stakeholders were satisfied.
